  • Krista Lamprey

    Krista Lamprey, NCIDQ

    INTERIOR DESIGNER

Krista is an NCIDQ certified interior designer who discovered her passion for interior design early on. Growing up in the New Hampshire home her parents built, she developed a deep appreciation for how spaces can shape the way we live and feel. The opportunity to explore interior design in a high school class solidified her decision to pursue it professionally. She went on to study interior design at High Point University and gained valuable experience through internships before joining CMID in 2019 upon graduation. What continues to draw Krista to interior design is the unique mix of technical precision and artistic creativity the field requires. Whether it’s space planning, material selection, or pulling together the final finishing details, she finds joy in every phase of the process.

Alyssa Strohmeyer is an Idaho native with more than ten years of residential design experience, with a focus on new construction. She holds a bachelor’s degree in interior design and is constantly looking for ways to grow in her design approach and knowledge.

When Alyssa isn’t busy working on design projects, you can find her exploring the great outdoors.

  • Janey Abbott

    INTERIOR DESIGNER

Classical ballet was a big part of Janey’s early life in Winston Salem where she studied from age 7 through high school at UNCSA. She danced professionally for the Milwaukee Ballet for two years, then started her collegiate studies in Art History, which culminated in her earning a BA from Pratt Institute in New York. Between moving from NYC back to NC, Janey spent three months backpacking through Europe where an interest in art conservation, especially textiles, was ignited. Initially planning to study this at the University of Glasgow to become an expert in this niche, Janey’s path shifted during the pandemic, leading her to pursue a career in interior design. She completed her degree at UNCG in 2025. Across disciplines, Janey is drawn to visual storytelling, whether through dance, art, or design.

  • Lauren Agle

    STUDIO MANAGER

Lauren grew up in a small New Jersey town, just across the river from New York City. After studying Film Production in college, she spent a year in Los Angeles working in stop motion animation—a craft she adores to this day. Connections soon drew her back to New York, where she spent thirteen years in film and commercial production, working on everything from Super Bowl ads to TV shows like Mr. & Mrs. Smith and feature films like Marty Supreme. She sees strong parallels between that world and her work at CMID—whether it’s sourcing unique items (like authentic Amish carriages for a period film) or keeping creative teams and projects organized and inspired. Join our team

We design environments with intentionality and a nature-inspired, warm-modern bias, while also reflecting the values and needs of our clients.

Our design principles…

Sustainability

With every project, we seek to incorporate furnishings and materials that are local, reclaimed, reused, recycled and/or rapidly renewable.

Focus on nature

We believe in biophilic design and connecting people with nature in interior environments as a way of promoting physical and mental well-being.

Locality

We believe spaces should reflect and support the community they’re in. And, we’re fortunate to be in an area with some extremely talented makers. We source products, materials, art and labor from our region whenever possible.

Craftsmanship & customization

We prefer pieces made by artists and craftsmen over mass produced goods. There’s an individuality and humanistic quality to artist-made pieces. And often spaces require custom solutions to maximize their potential.

Simplicity

While we appreciate and work with a wide range of design styles, warm modernism is the best way we can describe our style. We prefer spaces that are clean and uncluttered, but interesting.

Integrative branding

Our firm’s founders have deep experience working in advertising agencies building brands, which we put to work on our commercial projects. We thread a company’s brand and messaging through the environments we design and any other touchpoints (logos, menus, websites, merch, etc.) that we are tasked with creating.
